If you know anything about me, you will know I am an HUGE walking dead fan. Yes it is a zombie comic, yes they can be cliche, and yes, there was a movie in the 90s about a platoon called the "walking dead". But all of your petty weird prejudices aside, I gotta say, I really recommend this issue. The issue picks up after a lag of the past few issues. Rick finds out just how much Carl remembers, the group takes a new
approach to an old way of living they have been using, and Andrea has major beef with a fellow survivor. All the while this goes on, a sinister plot is brewing against the good of the team.
Wifey read this issue too and she said for the first in reading TWD she didn't care for Kirkmans writing (Of course she is used to reading the collected issues and has to get used to the monthly reading). Her main gripe is how Rick is a good guy but goes through soooo much garbage. I look at it that thats always been the pull of the book. The drama!! There doesnt have to be powers, epic battles, or powerful juggernaugts, Charlie Adlard's
superior Art and Robert Kirkmans top shelf writing stands alone. Powers and happy endings are nothing without good story. What do you think? Are you gonna pick up TWD 88? Leave a comment and let us know.
