|Somebody got some hurt on this cover....|
In the last issue we witnessed the Jacobson family beaten to a bloody pulp by a mysterious man who somehow is aware of Luther's strange talents and we saw Luther do some real live crime fighting. In issue #3, we see his homie try to get him out to be a "superhero", his dream girl has problems at home, his attempt to patrol the streets, a disturbing discovery and the emergence of a new cool word. I am totally going to start using "Ninja", which I think means cool or stealth or shut up or something. Either way, the story is coming along pretty well. The characters are very well fleshed out and while it's still early to tell what the story is coming out to be......I am still very excited with the way things are going and the characters, supporting cast, villains all are good.
I feel the same tingle I got when I read Invincible and The Walking Dead for the first time. A good comic, this one is a very rare breed. My one and only gripe about this issue.....there was once or twice the issue jumped to another scene and I had no idea what was going on. Like who is the mystery guy he was beating up? Was it his girlfriend Petra's attacker or maybe his dad? It took me a second or two to figure out it was the man from the issue's beginning.Maybe one or two captions would help. The artwork rocks, the writing flows.....good book.
It will be interesting to see what will types of trials he will go through. will he be a hero or a villain? will he confront the dad who beat his mother? Who is the new arch nemesis? What do you think of Justin Jordan and Tradd Moore's masterpiece? Peace!!
